For a first-year senator to be named, a candidate must receive at least 50% of the vote. Out of the six candidates, Monica Osborn and Sebastien Meyers secured the most votes, so they will go head-to-head in the runoff election. Starting on Sept. 29 at 8:00 a.m., the runoff election will open until Oct. 1 at 8:00 p.m. After voting closes on Oct. 1, the new first-year senator will be announced on Pomerantz Stage in Olmsted Center.
Osborn received 40 percent of the vote, with 99 votes in total. Meyers received 17 percent of the vote and a total of 42 votes.
