The Student Senate announced the winners of the 2026-2027 executive office positions March 26 in the Johansen Student Center, room 350.
Junior Elliot Nelson will serve as the new student body president.
“I’m very flattered and excited for the opportunity to represent the student body, having served on Senate for two years and being able to step up to this position,” Nelson said. “I’m really excited to continue being representative of the student body.”
Sarah Fey will serve as the Vice President of Student Life, winning the race by 67% of the vote.
“I’m really excited for this next year,” Fey said. “I’ve loved doing this job for the last year already, and I think it’s going to be a great year. I know me and Elliot are going to do some crazy things, but it’s going to be a great year.”
Gracie Hines will serve as the Vice President of Student Activities, winning the race by 44% of the vote.
Sophomore Sean Groh will be the new Vice President of Student Organizations.
“I am very excited and very thankful for the Drake University student body for electing me VPSO.” Groh said, “If any student wants to come up with any questions or concerns, feel free.”
Sophomore Lucas Rabe was elected to be the new Student Body Treasurer.
“I can’t wait to find out who’s on my SFAC board and work with them on one-time funding, getting started right at the beginning of the year,” Rabe said.
