On Nov. 1, 2023, the Theta Eta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at Drake University announced in an Instagram post that it would be shutting its doors come the end of spring semester. The Theta Eta chapter, which has called Drake home since the spring of 2009, requested that all questions regarding the shutdown be directed to their national offices in Atlanta, Georgia.
“The decline in open house pool over the last couple of years has led to a smaller chapter size,” said Vic Cascio, a representative from the ADPi national office. “With fewer Drake students interested in membership, the chapter is unable to provide the kind of rewarding experience Alpha Delta Pi hopes for our members.”
ADPi will be operating as normal until the end of the academic year, and all members who currently reside in the chapter house will be allowed to continue living there until the end of spring semester.
“We are actively engaged in the search for tenants beginning the 2024-2025 fiscal year,” Cascio said.
