The indoor track season will continue for the Bulldogs this weekend when they travel to the University of Northern Iowa Dome in Cedar Falls for the Jack Jennett Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

The Bulldogs will be looking to continue the success they have already achieved this season.

Senior Ari Curtis is coming off a victory in the long jump and a personal best time of 56.24 seconds in the 400-meter dash at the Iowa State Open last weekend.

Last year, Curtis set school records in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles; 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay with Marissa Smith, Emily James and Sarah Yeager; distance medley relay with Casey McDermott, Beth Hamling and Nicole Braunsdorf; heptathlon; and the indoor pentathlon.

Sophomore Dan Karys added his second win of the season last weekend in the triple jump. His jump of 46 feet, 11 inches was his best of his Drake career.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will be competing at the Jack Jennett Invitational in Cedar Falls over the weekend. The action gets started for the Bulldogs with the women’s pentathlon at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Most Drake events will take place on Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m.

The men’s team will also be sending athletes to the Kansas Indoor meet in Lawrence, Kan., on Friday. The Bulldogs have one month to prepare for the State Farm MVC Indoor Championships at Northern Iowa at the end of February. This meet will mark the end of the indoor season, as the teams move outdoors for the final months of the semester.
