2:09 p.m. Sept. 14
Security and the Des Moines Fire Department responded to Olmsted Center because of a fire alarm. Security and fire department units checked the building and the alarm was coming from the terrace kitchen. A heat sensor had gone off for an unknown reason. No fire and no damage to the building were found.
3 p.m. Sept. 14
A male Drake student reported that his bike was stolen from the Ross Residence Hall bike rack sometime between Aug. 26 and 27.
1:57 p.m. Sept. 15
Security and Des Moines Fire Department responded to the Kinne Center on a report of a gas odor. Security and fire units evacuated the building. Fire officials could not find the source of the odor. Fire officials gave the all-clear call to return to the building.
5:30 p.m. Sept. 16
Security responded to 25th and Carpenter on a report that a female student had fallen off her bike and was hurt. Security found the student, and she had a laceration on her ankle. Des Moines Fire Medics were called. The student was transported to a local hospital
6:06 p.m. Sept. 19
Security and Des Moines Police responded to 30th and Carpenter because of a motor vehicle accident. A female Drake student blinded by the sun turned into the path of a non-Drake affiliated female’s vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles. No one was injured. Police were called and filed an accident report.
