Going into the final week of the regular season with the Missouri Valley Conference tournament less than 20 days away, the Drake women’s basketball team has righted the ship. The Bulldogs capped their regular-season home schedule with a 78-45 victory over the Bradley Braves to move into a tie for second place in the conference with Southern Illinois and Missouri State.
Drake was doomed by a sluggish start and couldn’t recover in the second half before falling to the first-place UNI Panthers, 85-74. It marked the first time this season the Bulldogs have dropped two consecutive conference games.
The Knapp Center crowd watched the Bulldogs take over in the second quarter on their way to a 95-72 victory and the lone spot on top of the MVC standings.
