Drake University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Viking Invitational here in Des Moines on Friday.
The women won the meet, and the men came in third place behind Morningside and club team Run DSM.
Drake’s women won the meet handily, placing seven in the Top-10, including the top six overall finishers.
Sophomore Emma Huston won the five-kilometer race in a time of 19 minutes, six seconds. Redshirt sophomre Kirsta Maguire came in second in 19:25, and senior Erin Poss rounded out the Top-three with a time of 19:43.
Senior Ian Harkreader was the top finisher for the men. He ran eight kilometers in 26:36 for sixth place.
Redshirt freshman Ali Jandal finished 10th in 26:54, and true Ryan Ross finished 16th in 27:18.
The Bulldogs compete next at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis.
