1:38 p.m. Sept. 1
While working the medical call at Meredith Hall a security officer noticed a pick-up truck next to a car that was now missing a front bumper. A male Drake student was pulling out of a parking space and hit the vehicle parked next to him. The student left a note with his name and insurance information on it for the victim.
8:58 p.m. Sept. 1
While writing parking tickets in the Drake parking lot located behind the Fieldhouse, a security officer observed a wooden baton lying on the back seat floor of a vehicle he was writing. The owner of the vehicle was located in the Bell Center. The owner of the vehicle, a male Drake student, opened up his car and turned the baton over to security. He was advised that this item was a weapon and violated the Drake University weapons policy.
10:10 p.m. Sept. 1
Security responded to Ross Residence Hall on a report of a strong smell of marijuana coming from a fourth floor dorm room. Officers arrived and could smell the marijuana coming from the room. The residents of this room, four male Drake students, were present. The room was searched and marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. Alcohol was also found in the room and all four students are underage for drinking. Police were called. Three students were arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. One student was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The dean of students has been advised on this incident.
11:54 a.m. Sept. 2
A Drake student reported to security that his mountain bike had been stolen over night from his off campus residence in the 1500 block of 31st Street.
7:35 p.m. Sept. 2
Security and Des Moines Fire responded to Goodwin-Kirk Residence Hall because of a fire alarm. Security arrived and found on the first floor that a male student was cooking popcorn in a microwave and burnt it, causing the alarm to go off.
1:17 p.m. Sept. 3
Security and Des Moines Fire responded to Olin Hall because a fire alarm. Security and the fire department arrived. The alarm was coming from the penthouse area. No fire was found, leaving an unknown reason for the alarm.
2:23 a.m. Sept. 4
Security responded to Goodwin-Kirk Residence Hall on a report that a male was yelling and knocking on doors on the fourth floor. Security arrived and found the suspect, a male Drake student. The underage-for-drinking male was consuming alcohol. He was told to go back to his room. Residence hall staff was advised.
5:07 a.m. Sept. 4
A Drake student came into the Security office. He told Security that he had fallen out of his bed at Morehouse Residence Hall and hit his head on something. Des Moines Police were called since the head wound appeared suspicious. The student stated he just would take a cab to the hospital. A cab was called and the student was transported to a local hospital. No police report was filed.
3:55 p.m. Sept. 4
A Drake student reported that his bike had been stolen from the Black Cultural Center.
6:14 a.m. Sept. 5
Security responded to Ross Residence Hall on a report that a female was sleeping in the hall kitchen. Security arrived and found a non-Drake affiliated female sleeping on the couch. Police were called and the female was advised on trespass for the Drake campus.
