With Halloween only three weeks away, we are all beginning to wonder what costume we should wear. It should be a memorable costume. We have to decide if we want a costume that is sweet and sassy, scary and gory ,or something more comical.
But while we want to find the best costume, we do not want to stretch out our pockets too far to do so. You can easily create the perfect Halloween costume without even leaving the house.
For a sweet and sassy costume idea, go with the “scaredy cat” approach. For this costume, all you need is black—liquid or gel—eyeliner, bobby pins and all black clothes. Use the eyeliner to create a black nose starting up from your Cupid’s bow to just over the top of your nose. Then, add a few freckles on both sides and three whiskers on each side of your face.
Next, create a winged look on the top of your eye extending the wing across your eye in a thin line. Add a second wing in order to make your eyes look longer. Do the same on the bottom of your eye to form what is almost a reverse wing. With your makeup completed, take a small section of your hair from one side of your head. Twist the section of your hair into a small bun and secure it with bobby pins. Repeat on the other side of your head. This creates an illusion of ears. Now throw on the all black attire and your look is simply purrrrrrfect.
Now if you’re not a cat person, then this next look may be just for you. This is the scarecrow costume. To make this look, you should acquire jeans, a flannel, a straw hat and face paint.
First, put on your jeans and flannel shirt, making sure to tuck in the flannel. A big leather belt would be a great accessory as well for this costume. Loose straw (or fake hay from a craft store) is very important for this costume to work. Place the hay so that it sticks out of your pant legs, sleeves, hat and some behind your ear for that extra touch. Lastly, use face paint to rosy cheeks and a colored nose. A red or orange color work best for this step.
If neither cats nor scarecrow costumes seem appealing, then be a mummy. This is by far the easiest costume of the three. All that is needed is gauze and white clothes. Using the gauze, wrap it around your entire body over your white clothes. Tear off pieces of the gauze and add them randomly to the already wrapped gauze to create a spookier effect.
Wearing any of these costumes on Halloween will surely make you the center of attention of any Halloween party.
