Drake’s performance at home didn’t improve after last week’s loss to Northern Iowa. The Bulldogs (6-19, 1-12 MVC) fell to the Wichita State Shockers (18-6, 12-1 MVC) at the Knapp Center, 74-48.

The Drake Men’s Basketball team has been a much stronger team at home (4-7) than on the road (0-9) this season, and it looked to use a packed Knapp Center to their advantage, the biggest crowd of the season with 4,724 in attendance. The Bulldogs won their last game at home, an 80-70 triumph over Bradley, and had hoped that the good vibes from that game would translate into Saturday’s matchup with the University of Northern Iowa Panthers, a much tougher opponent.
Unfortunately for Drake, last week’s win didn’t prove to be an impetus and the Bulldogs were picked apart by the UNI offense on the way to a 66-82 loss.
The Bulldogs remained winless in the Missouri Valley Conference this season after a rough second half at Illinois State.
The UNI Panthers (10-7, 2-2 MVC) kept the Bulldogs (5-11, 0-4 MVC) winless in conference this season on Saturday in Cedar Falls. It was also Drake’s biggest loss of the season, 77-44, a 23-point deficit.
Poor shooting sinks Drake in third straight loss

The Bulldogs’ faceless sixth man
In St. Louis on Thursday night, the Drake Men’s Basketball season came to an end as they fell to Bradley in overtime, 52-50.
With the regular season over, the time comes to think about the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. ‘Arch Madness,’ as it is known in the MVC, will have a major impact on how the NCAA Tournament will be seeded. The final two teams in the MVC Tournament are guaranteed seats in the big dance, which means that Drake still has a shot if they can pull off a couple upsets.
Men’s Basketball concludes regular season with tough loss at Illinois State
As the Drake Men’s Basketball season wraps up, there are five men who will soon be donning the Bulldogs uniform for the last time.
In the final game at the Knapp Center this season, the Drake Bulldogs fell to the Loyola Ramblers in overtime, 80-75.
Men’s Basketball continued their upward ascent in the Missouri Valley Conference as they defeated Missouri State who fell to 10-18 overall and 4-12 in conference play on Sunday by a score of 78-43. The victory became Drake’s fifth win in eight games.
The Evansville Purple Aces (19-8, 9-6) got their revenge for losing to the Bulldogs three weeks ago, defeating Drake (8-19, 5-10) 61-52 in Evansville.
